CIRA (Crisis Intervention & Response Application) is a program that allows first responders, such as SWAT teams and firemen, to more effectively answer crisis situations by providing access to both large and small scale geospatial data through an integrated viewer.
CIRA aids first responders by providing 360-degree imagery, detailed floor plans and large scale aerial photographs though a simple user interface. With the CIRA Viewer, first responders, administrators, and public safety officials can quickly locate rooms and areas, find quick access routes, as well as view the contents of any given room or area.
CIRA I, starting in 2001, was a product that integrated with ERSI's ArcView GIS 3.2s. CIRA II, currently in development will be a proprietary software free system based on technology implemented through standards compliant browsers such as Netscape 7, or Internet Explorer 6.
Demonstration images and plans are available below. The actual CIRA Viewer/Application does significantly vary from these samples, but is only available to police, school administrators and other safety officials.
To use the demo, simply click the floor plan image and choose 'Run this program from its current location'. Answer 'Yes' to any security warning windows that may pop-up.
