Members of the Stupp GIS Laboratory are encouraged to take their works to
conferences and meetings. This section of the website allows visitors to view
the materials that have been displayed at conferences lab members have attended.
First and foremost, the Stupp GIS laboratory is a teaching institution, and as such an
institution we offer many classes for undergraduate and graduate students and
professionals alike. Find out more about class offerings and our new GIS Certificate program.
The Stupp GIS Laboratory often hosts events ranging from vendor demonstrations
and training to GIS seminars for professionals and beginners alike. Use this link to
get the scoop on upcoming events hosted in the Stupp GIS Laboratory.
StuppGISLab.org hosts many different web enabled maps using many different Internet
GIS software packages such as GeoMedia WebMap, ArcIMS and UMN MapServer.

This section of StuppGISLab.org is under construction during the Summer of 2004.
Subdomains are special purpose sites for special projects and user support.
Completion for these sites is scheduled for this fall.
 Certificate Program in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

The certificate, offered from the Department of Public Policy Studies at Saint Louis University, in tandem with the Stupp GIS Laboratory, will prepare students to utilize GIS technology independently in their positions in the public, not-for-profit and private sectors.

The 15-hour program will include the following course of study:

  • Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
  • Intermediate Geographic Information Systems
  • Advanced Geographic Information Systems
  • Technology and Public Policy
  • Capstone

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Admission to the Graduate School at Saint Louis University
  • Appropriate background in research and statistics
